Guru Padmasambhava Statue

This is a magnificently hand-carved Guru Padmasambhava (Guru Rimpoche) Statue. This represents the prominent artistry of our Nepali artists.

Padmasambhava is regarded as a legendary Buddhist mystic who introduced Tantric Buddhism to Tibet and is credited with establishing the first Buddhist monastery in Tibet. It is believed that he was born out of a lotus flower (Padma) in lake Dhankasha in Oddiyana, an ancient city of India. He received great notoriety as a powerful exorcist and was invited by King Thi-srong-detsan to Tibet in 747.
