This is a replica of the traditional Newari inclined window; distinctive architectural element frequently seen in Newari structures in Nepal’s Kathmandu Valley. It is a wooden window that slopes away from the building at an angle hence the Name Bhosu Jhya (inclined window in native language). It is beautifully carved with sculptures of legendary animals, religious symbols, deities and geometric patterns.

This Bhosu Jhya has 5 window sections each equipped with three pillars on either side, a railing bar at the bottom, and a cornice with a flowery pattern and a toran on top. A wonderful work of art, the window area is embellished with exquisite sculptures of Kungsuru (Flying Lion), Ganesh, Kumar, peacock in the middle, and Garudha on each side.

This window is not just remarkable visually, but it also slides open for simple ventilation, just like a regular Newari window. This makes it the ideal addition to any space in your house or place of business because it will stand out and be a wonderful topic of conversation.
