This is a phenomenal piece of Nepali art and architecture. It is beautifully hand carved and elegantly painted by one of the most experienced artists of Nepal. It is carved on a single piece of wood using the traditional tools made of wood and iron. It is inspired from the traditional art and architecture of Nepal precisely Prehistoric Newari community who placed the lions at two sides of the entrances of temples and the palaces. It is  believed that it guards the entrance along with representing the royalty of the place it is situated at.

The lions have gajur (pinnacle) on top of their head resembling the sign of direct connection with deities. It's also regarded as a powerful creature that eliminates or scares away the negative energy to enter.

Placing this at the entrance of your main gate not only enhances the esthetics of your entrance but also stops the negative energy from entering your home.
