Chenrezig Statue | Hand Carved Wooden Avalokiteshvara

This is an outstanding masterpiece of a hand-carved wooden Chenrezig Statue. The statue resembles aesthetic Chenrezig, also known as Avalokitesvara, "one who looks with an unwavering eye".

Two hands of the statue are in devotional gesture, clasped in front of his jewel-draped heart. The right-hand holds the special symbol a crystal Akshamala; symbol of the never-ending cycle and the left-hand holds a white lotus; signifying that he frees the sentient beings from muddy waters of suffering and hellish realms to the pure states of enlightenment. He is draped in silk garments, both legs in the meditating pose, seated on lotus petals.
